This is a 6-week class for dogs over 6-months of age. While not required, it is suggested your dog has attended a Puppy/Basic and Intermediate level class before attending as this is considered an Advanced level class.
All dogs must be up-to-date and show proof of vaccines and/or titers including Rabies.
The Canine Good Citizen Test is something I strive to achieve with all of my own dogs. It is a combination of obedience commands and good public manners. Many therapy organizations require this test because it shows that the dog is just what it says… A Good Citizen! There are lots of perks to becoming a Canine Good Citizen. A lot of dogs on the “bad breed list” seek out this title so they are excepted through different homeowner’s insurance companies!
Any breed or breed mix may take the Canine Good Citizen test, however, if they are an AKC dog they can earn this as a title after their name! Our 6-week course works on each of the 10 parts of this test and then we will have set dates throughout the year for taking the actual test. Some sections included are Sitting Politely For Petting, Walking Through A Crowd, Supervised Separation, Appearance & Grooming and more.
For a detailed description of the test in its entirety, check out AKC’s website.
Important Note: Before attending your first training class, you must complete and return our enrollment form. Enrollment in class is not complete until we have received both your enrollment form and your payment. If you have any Questions, please contact us at (321) 338-7722.
