Hi everyone!
I am pleased to announce that I am currently working on writing a new book entitled “Getting Braver: Tricks and Games for Your Fearful Dog” (that is currently the working title anyway…could change a little as we near closer to final editing).
A large majority of dogs in our households suffer from fears and phobias. Whether it occurs from genetics, abuse or lack of exposure, it is our duty as good pet owners to teach these dogs coping skills so they can experience the world around them with minimal fear and intimidation.
This book is specifically targeted for training the shy or fearful dog. It will break down how to slowly desensitize your dog to different stimuli and initiate positive reinforcement training techniques with dogs who have a variety of fears including such things as people, other animals, noises and all types of visuals. The book breaks down information in an easy to read way that a new pet owner can easily apply, yet informative enough that it is a beneficial read for even the most seasoned of animal trainers of all species. The book is broken down into several sections of fun tricks and games to play with your dog including a section of tricks for “Coping Skills”, fun games to help your shy dog venture out of their shell and another level of tricks for “Getting Braver”!
Now this is where you all come in! I have set up a GoFundMe page to help with initial setup costs for the book. Our initial costs will be devoted to working on the design of the book’s illustrations and photography and getting the layout of the cover and interior created. Funds after this point will be used for final publishing costs and actual printing of the book once it is ready.
There are reward levels on the GoFund Me page, including a donation of $20 which will get you an autographed copy of the book when it is published!
This book comes from my heart, as it is dedicated to my own fearful dogs who have led me down this incredible journey and the many fearful dogs who have come through my training classes over the years. I am honored to have helped each and every one of them overcome barriers that sometimes didn’t even seem possible.
Please help me share this information with the rest of the world by clicking on the GoFundMe link located at the bottom of each page of this website (in the footer) and donating today! Thank you everyone!!
